Boogieburg Soundsystem, hailing from Blacksburg, is a dynamic collective of DJs, producers, and creative minds including founders John Gaskins and Joey Paulekas, a.k.a. DJ Eclectic. Known for blending a diverse mix of hip-hop, funk, reggae, and electronic beats, they've made a mark on both the local scene and beyond, hosting popular events and starting their own record label, Boogieburg Recordings. Hailing from the vibrant streets of Brooklyn, DJ Oji has been spinning records since he was 14, immersing himself in the nascent house music scene from its inception in 1984. While his formative dance years were spent in New York, it was in Baltimore where he honed his craft as a DJ and producer, co-founding the influential POJI Records with fellow house music aficionado DJ Pope, and firmly establishing his roots in a city that he now calls home.

With residencies at prominent venues and a role as a founding host on WPFW’s ‘Decipher’ hip-hop show, he also shone as a finalist in the 2011 Red Bull “ThreeStyle” DJ competition. Beyond the decks, Jahsonic spearheads the “Nights Like This" parties, known for their exuberant blend of soul, funk, disco, and innovative music selections.
